California lawyer sentenced in Serostim diversion scheme
  CONCORD - A Palm Springs, Calif., lawyer was sentenced Wednesday to three years in federal prison for his role in an scheme to illegally divert HIV drugs from a wholesaler based in Milford.
Robert McFadden, 63, was also fined $96,639.00. McFadden was convicted after a trial in January in U.S. District Court on charges of conspiracy to money laundering, wire fraud and unlicensed distribution of prescription drugs.
Prosecutors charge that McFadden and others in the ring illegally bought Serostim, an HIV drug, and resold it using falsified paperwork.
Over $2.1 million passed through client trust funds held by McFadden as part of the scheme, prosecutors charge.
