STIs incidence in MSM followed since HIV-1 primary infection in the French ANRS-PRIMO cohort..... Does Undetectable Viral Load Influence Sex Behavior
 
 
  "Main assumption: the knowledge of the viral load may influence sexual behavior in the following weeks, and therefore STI acquisition......No cases of syphilis reported before 2000.
 
Over time, the incidence rate of syphilis increased significantly of 9% per year on average (p<.0001), up to 4.92/100 PY in 2013......Over time, the incidence rate of other bacterial STIs increased significantly of 4% per year on average (p=.006), up to 4.25/100PY in 2013."
 
from Jules: I'm not sure this study answers the question but men with detectable viral load had higher incidence of STIs vs men with undetectable viral load, although in looking at graphs below syphilis rates increased more steeply in recent years than STIs" but.......
