Do you prefer one diagnostic kit test over another & why?

Do you prefer one diagnostic kit test over another & why? ELISA or PCR
perhaps? Also, for confirmation is PCR always the best choice?

ELISA makes sense for initial diagnosis, but PCR should always be used to
document presence of virus in the bloodstream - only those with (+) PCR
tests should be treated. PCR is the best confirmatory test.
