I found out I had HCV about 2 years ago. I am a genotype 1b. My liver enzymes have all been normal. I have not had a viral load done nor a biopsy, how necessary is it to have this done
 

If you have had HCV for many years (from an exposure many years ago), then i would suggest a liver biopsy. if it looks good, then you can justify watching and waiting for better treatments to come along. if it does not, then starting treatment sooner rather than later makes sense.
