SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF DOUBLE TALK TO ME.

Dear Dr. Chung,

I WAS DIAGNOSED IN 74, AM NOW SYMPTOMATIC, THOUGH THE VIRUS HAS ALL BUT LEFT ME. IE. TREATMENT WOULD BE OF NO USE.

OF SOCIETY, NOT TESTED FOR, NOT TALKED ABOUT ETC. THE AMA PUT OUT A PAMPHLET THAT STATEDYOU CANNOT GET HCV BY KISSING, YET IN REFERENCE AT BOTTOM STATED THE IDEAL ENVIRONMENT 2 PEOPLE SHARE WHEN KISSING IF BOTH HAVE BLEEDING GUMS. ALONG THE SAME LINES IT STATED IN A MARRIAGE SITUATION GET RID OF RAZORS, TOOTHBRUSHES, ETC. SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF DOUBLE TALK TO ME.

ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO IT WAS EVERDAY TALK ABOUT THIS NEW KILLER AIDS. HEP C WAS STARTING THE SAME ROAD UP UNTIL WE STARTED BOMBING EVERYTHING. HAS THERE BEEN ANY PROGRESS IN EITHER DISEASE AS FAR AS A CURE OR REAL TREATMENT, OR WHERE SHOULD I LOOK?

SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS, THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP,

I would suggest you look at a recent issue of the journal Hepatology by DiBisceglie and Rice discussing the horizon for treatments in HCV, which is looking quite promising.
