I have not responded to alpha interferon or peg-intron ribovirin combo treatment. Was taken off combo treatment for low white cell and paltette counts. I am geno 1. Although I remain in good physical shape with no limits in my condition, my Dr , Willam Lee of S/ western med. in Dallas has no other option for me except to wait for my condition to worsen , and transplant me. Is there any thing on the horizon. And why don't medical drs. look at alternative treatments or some type of supplementation that would promote better liver function. Is there any thing else i can do.
 

Much of this depends on your liver condition by liver biopsy. you may explore the merits of low dose IFN or PEGIFN therapy, but this depends on how severe your liver biopsy is. You should explore this further with Dr. Lee, who I'm certain is on top on all aspects of your condition, and no doubt will have an answer.
