I am a registered Nurse in a busy Er. I have had Hep c for 5 years . I have
had biopsy showing mild inflammation and alt runs in 90s. I only take alot
of Milk Thistle and work out. NO BOOZE or SMOKING. Just had ultrasound and
it was fine. The question is????????? Can I be fired from my job if employer
finds out? I pay cash for all tests at a MD in another part of town. I do
not use my insurance for fear of my job finding out. Have you had nurses or
MD who had this and had a problem at work. I work at a very large and
political hospital in Los Angeles and have been scared to death because I
will never be able to take the treatment if need be . Please share any
experience you may have encountered.

You have rights as a worker and your employer can not discriminate based on
your condition. we have had health care workers treated and have worked out,
when necessary, temporary disability for treatment regimens. best of luck.
