On May 29, LabCorp and Virco announced that Virco’s phenotypic resistance tests will be available in the US exclusively through Lab Corp starting in this coming July. The NATAP web site posted a report about this development about 5 weeks ago. The report contains a discussion about what is phenotypic and genotypic testing, how it may be used, and ongoing studies to validate the test. Virco’s genotypic resistance test will also be available through LabCorp. Virco also announced that through improved technology their turnaround time by July for processing patient blood sample will be 14 days.
