from Jules: I don't know if the cost of MRIs were included in this analysis, for patients with cirrhosis who achieve SVR for the remainder of their lives they have to do an MRI every 6 months (standard of care) which costs $1500-2000 per MRI. That is $3000-4000 per year, over 10 years $30,000 to $40,000, over 20 yard $60,000 to $80,000, over 30 years for a person with cirrhosis cured for example at the age of 40 who does an MRI through age 70 the lifetime cost to insurance companies is $90,000 to $120,000; this cost is often overlooked.
