A PHASE ONE STUDY OF LEDIPASVIR/SOFOSBUVIR
IN PREGNANT WOMEN WITH HEPATITIS C VIRUS

"....my hospital in Pittsburgh, we have seen a doubling over the last decade of the HCV virus infection among pregnant women.....Not surprisingly, recruitment was the largest challenge in this study and not because of a lack of HCV prevalence.... But the implications of HCV treatment during pregnancy are significant. Due to high healthcare engagement, pregnancy is a window of opportunity for HCV treatment. And with integration with prenatal care, addiction treatment and HCV treatment and perhaps partner treatment as well, we can set these new families up for success in their future lives together"
