A steatosis polygenic risk score (PRS) measures an individual's genetic predisposition to excess liver fat (steatosis) and liver disease. It evaluates combinations of common gene variants-such as PNPLA3, TM6SF2, GCKR, and MBOAT7-to estimate long-term risk for developing or progressing to severe liver conditions.
